What does the HDR checkmark do?, On hammer.

On hammer, when you are about to compile a map, what does the HDR checkmark thing do. I am assuming it adds HDR to your map. Does that take longer to compile then, or what. And how can you add bloom to your maps.

yeah, that is how you add HDR to your map, i recommend doing it on a final compile because of how long it will take.

btw...compiling with HDR will be slower...when compiling with HDR it does the buildfacelights phase twice.

oh no, here is the list of skys, the ones that have HDR by them have HDR capabilities. http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Sky_List

Hdr= cubemaps +reflections and bloom,

It's longer to compile and you must do a "buildcubemaps" once your map is done(or it'd look like the 5th dimension with reflection everywhere).

@ Techno-Man: You can specify how amy time it "buildfacelights" when compiling ...


The best Final compile parameter are (according to me of course) :

"$bsp_exe" -game $gamedir $path\$file
"$vis_exe" -game $gamedir $path\$file
"$light_exe" -both -final -game $gamedir $path\$file
"Copy File" $path\$file.bsp $bspdir\$file.bsp
"$game_exe" -dev -console -allowdebug -game $gamedir +map $file
